  1. Added a match calendar to the competition page, so you can see the calendar for every season, every club, every team and now every competition. Hopefully that will make it easier to reschedule matches.
  2. Added "Jump links" to many pages, so you can quickly jump to the

December meeting update

I’m conscious that the previous meeting minutes said we’d meet again tomorrow, and I haven’t got around to organising this! I did check with both local pubs, and they couldn’t reserve any space for us because of Christmas and the weather for traveling is pretty shocking right now anyway. So, that meeting is moved to Tuesday 10 th January, 7.30pm at The Rose & Crown in Kings Langley, WD4 9HT...

We will start sorting out fixtures that weekend using the spreadsheet method we used last year...

Use the roster at every match

The HVA printable club roster is a real time saver. It's available for anybody to print from any club page. Use it at every match to ensure: Teams don't fall foul of the HVA player restriction rules. Scorers can accurately complete the FIVB scoresheet roster with player names that match the HVA website. The HVA Comp Sec can quickly confirm match results. You might know who "Anna" is, but I don't...

A reminder on time restricted venues

These rules are included in the HVA Rules at section C.11 under "Time restricted venues". The rules clarify that any venue time restriction must be communicated by the Home Captain to both the Away Captain and the Referee at the start of the match, with the situation under which the match will end clearly stated. Perhaps it might be a good idea to write it on the score sheet before the match...

So who do we have for 2021/2?

We’re intending to start up the HVA leagues again in September. We've sent an email out to previous club contacts but if we have any new clubs interested in starting we'd love to hear from you. The HVA won’t start competitive matches until the end of October to give everybody a chance to re-establish themselves. Who thinks they’ll be playing and what teams do you think you’ll have? Best guess is...

The current Volleyball England announcement can be found here . There's some good additional volleyball specific advice there: Wash your hands before and after playing/training. Clean volleyballs after each match and training session. Avoid unnecessary contact before, during and after games. We don't currently see any reason to impose a blanket ban on all HVA matches.
