About the HVA

The Hertfordshire Volleyball Association (HVA) organise the Hertfordshire Volleyball League that comprises teams from Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and North London.

The HVA endeavour to cater for all abilities and ages and strive to raise the standard of volleyball in the area.

All HVA volleyball cancelled due to coronavirus until 20th May

HVA will be following Volleyball England's lead and cancelling all county volleyball activities with immediate effect until 20 May 2020. That includes all league and cup fixtures including the Cup Final scheduled for 3 May 2020. We mirror the reason's given by Volleyball England and we won't repeat them here. Coronavirus update from the HVA

The current Volleyball England announcement can be found here . There's some good additional volleyball specific advice there: Wash your hands before and after playing/training. Clean volleyballs after each match and training session. Avoid unnecessary contact before, during and after games. We don't currently see any reason to impose a blanket ban on all HVA matches. Cup date for your diaries

The 2020 Cup finals will be held on Sunday 3 May at Ridgeway Academy, with the format pretty much the same as last year . Thanks again to WHVC for hosting. More details soon, but please share info with your club members.

Harriers move to Division 2

St Albans Harriers Volleyball Club have requested a move of their men's team from Division 1 to Division 2. This has been discussed and agreed by the HVA committee. They are currently going through a re-structuring process with a number of new players and have struggled to field a competitive opposition at Div 1 level. This is with immediate effect. Our very own referee course - postponed

The HVA will be hosting a Grade 4 referee course on Saturday 30th November at Ridgeway Academy (Herns Ln, Welwyn Garden City AL7 2AF). This is part funded by England Volleyball and part funded by HVA. The cost to anybody who wants to be on the course is £55 and as usual HVA will cover the cost of a single attendee per club.
